July 30-31. Naked People on the Billboard!

I don’t want to waste the time of the faithful blog readers! Yet, some days we just work and catch dinner and walk around. Occasionally interesting things come up. On Tuesday Dan marveled how someone got up to the second floor to draw some graffiti nipples on the lady on the billboard for French Connection. We walked up closer and realized the billboard actually depicted design process from sketch to store.

There were 4 images of a model: one covering her chest and wearing only the panties with an outline of jeans, the second already had the jeans on and had a sketch of a shirt over the bare chest, and the rest were dressed. It’s the second that that got Dan’s attention. We are OK with this kind of imagery in the public place that but why then lock up the Internet access as mentioned previously?

On Tuesday kids went to the Science museum in London with Irina and Michalka. It was raining pretty bad and the journey took over 2 hours. Georgia and Michalka liked the museum but it might have been too much for Isabella. I would like to visit as well. When we go to the Liberty Science museum we generally take it in small chunks. It sounded like they’ve tried to cover all 5 stories in one shot.

I've shared our calendar with some family members and friends. The idea is that anyone who would like to visit us can fill themselves in for the desired weekend/vacation period. Feel free to come here during the week as well. Our place is a great jumping point to explore London and the surrounding areas. We have some ideas for where we would like to go and when but none of it is set in stone. If anyone did not get the invite and wants to, please let me know.

Yesterday we finally got the TV. It is big and marvelous. The last one we got was 13 years ago. The pictures look so realistic that some programs feel like theater performances in your room. It is a step away from TVs described in the Futurological Congress, one of my favorite stories. It was incredible to see it communicate with IPad and have many different apps. On the down side, TVs had gotten closer to running like the computers and so it freezes frequently and you have to wait forever for the streamed TV programs to complete buffering.
Kids spent another day at Kew Gardens. Michalka liked it. She and Georgia did a rapid run around the grounds while Isabella and Irina relaxed around the playground.
With TV in place, we walked over to the movie theater to see if we can catch a flick.

Unfortunately it is a second week that A/Cs are not working and it is pretty warm in there. So kids and I walked back home to watch a YouTube cartoon on a large screen, while Dan and Michael rode on bikes. They were able to get back into Hampton Palace to see the vine. They rode as far as Teddington town - near Teddington locks and reported having found a lovely little town center to come back to.

Made our plans for the weekend. We are going back to Western UK to see Salisbury, Glastonbury, and Bath. There is a lot of us traveling so we did not want to venture out too far. There will be bike event going on around Kingston and London area so unless one wants to be stranded for two days, it is better to be away.
