Day 9 - July 5, 2019: Georgia and Isabella the “Flying” Witches

Hi again! Today is Friday July 5, 2019. Today is also the day when we finally went to the Museum of Illusions, which we were dying to go to.
We woke up around nine-ish and went to the Museum with mom. It was really fun, educational, and entertaining, and I recommend anyone who is visiting Vilnius to go. For instance, there was one hypnotic wheel that you had to stare at for thirty seconds. This would cause the walls to sway when you looked at them.

The nice part of the museum was that we were the only ones there, so the staff basically followed us around and answered any questions we had. In one of the activities, you walked into a room and the furniture was nailed to the ceiling, so when you took a photo, it looked as though you were flying upside-down (but don’t tell anyone I said that.
Actually, just forget it. I’m actually flying in the picture).

When we were leaving the museum, mom mentioned something about lasers to the cashier lady, and the person recoiled in shock. She started asking how we knew about the laser show that was supposed to be at seven that night and then told us she would mark our tickets so we could go. I guess we got really lucky this time.

After the museum, we went to the Academy Bookstore. We wanted to find a book of paintings from the artist mom and dad had found the other day in Kaunas. Luckily, we did find that, and were able to purchase it, along with a charm-making kit that we had asked for.

When we came home for lunch, a freshly made soup and fried chanterelles waited for us on the stove. Dad was already waiting for us and we quickly finished off the food, which was still steaming. Then, it started pouring rain, so mom and dad had to choose on whether to make a run for it to the nearest cafe, or work at home.

Inadvertently, they choose the latter option, and waited for about fifteen minutes until the rain died out. Meanwhile, Isabella and I were doing our kit. After thirty minutes of that, Isabella gave up on trying to make a good charm and started watching a movie, while I made charms for everyone. I think I was actually good at it.

After an hour or two passed, we went to the art store near Uzupis. There, we bought pencils and erasers for us to draw with and came home, where we waited for mom to finish working. I don’t know why, but we thought her work day would finish at four in the afternoon, when it actually ended at six. In reality, she and Alice were going to a coffee shop and had invited us to join them.
The delicacies at the shop were exquisite. There was a light and fluffy strawberry cheesecake with fresh strawberries on it, and it tasted so good! It was like a pink unicorn had pooped out a magical cake. Really good! Later, we went home and tried to finish our charm project, but pretty soon we gave up and went to the art shop to get more pencils and erasers. Also there, we bought a blank art journal for Isabella.

When we got home, we got our art supplies and went to the playground near our park, where I decorated Isabella’s art journal. Pretty soon, mom and dad came home from work and we went to the Illusion Museum, where the laser show was beginning. It was really quite extraordinary and innovative. The room was pitch black and a dancer also dressed in black stood in the center. He held two LED light beams in his hands that changed colors depending on the dance. The LED lights must have been coded somehow, because hen the dancer swung his hands, you could see pictures of things in his hands. For instance, when he swung it for the last of the three dances, the designs were the Lithuanian flag and the Gidimino Tower.

After fifteen minutes, the light show unfortunately ended and we walked over to a Georgian House restaurant for dinner with Alice. I had showed Isabella how to draw people and we were both experimenting before the food came. I got Khinkali, which is a large dumpling sort of thing, boiled in hot broth, which seeps into the inside of the dumpling and has to be sucked out, to the delight of me. Afterwards, we went home and went to sleep. And that’s how this day went down in history; July 5, 2019.
