Day 9: Perfect Day in Paris and a little of Bordeaux

Hello! Today is 6/26/22. Our current locations are Paris, France, and Bordeaux, France.

We woke up today with a mission. FOOD!!! We walked around until we found a boulangerie. We bought fresh baguettes. W walked around and got to Marie de Medici’s aka Luxembourg garden. It was very pretty. There was even a toddler throwing gravel into the pond. We walked around for a little more.

RL. Edit because blogger would not display the pictures properly so adding a bit more content here.

Headless priest, or so
we thought until he
raised his head from
blessing someone
There were outdoor art and antique markets in St. Germain. It was amazing to see so much variety and so many amazing things. Then Dan & I annoyed kids by going window shopping art store to store (they were closed but absolutely amazing inside).

We then wandered across the river and past Louvre to go through some of the areas North of it, including a really long chain went through a bunch of small outdoor shopping strips. One of the restaurants seemed to replicate the fish market in Japan. We took a picture from the outside - guests eating from the tables, with frozen fish sitting on ice all around them.

Back to Bulka. When it was time to start heading home we stopped at a café and ate some cookies. When we got to the train station we waited for a long time to figure out Eurail pass and some confusing lack of reservations needed for one of the longer trips in a few days - Montpellier to Nice. It appeared that no reservation is necessary but if the train was full we would miss all of the subsequent stops and mess up our schedule in France. We eventually gave up. We boarded the train and wondered around for a bit to find our seats.

When we got to Bordeaux we found out that our hotel was in a very dirty part of town. It was a bit unnerving. But hotel itself was very nice and new. We took an Uber to the better part of town. There was a wine festival that had cool salami “ice cream”.

We went for a walk around and it was very pretty. There were tons of old buildings. We stopped at a pizza place that had strawberry salad, noodle straws, and brie pizza. As strange as that sounds, it was pretty cool. We walked all the way home. We stopped at a store and bought breakfast.
The Google translate
refused to translate
our menu at a restaurant
it was written in
a mixture of French
and Italian. Good food though :)

When we got home we went to sleep thinking about the huge conference room we were going to work out of tomorrow.
