Exploring Budapest

 Hello! Today is 8/22/22.

Today started with us going out to find a place to work. We found a very fancy cafe but decided on a Starbucks. We stayed there till lunch time. As it turns out that the Starbucks had a cockroach in the bathroom. We will be find a different location for the next day but I am sure that all restaurants in the world have a cockroach. If you don’t see it you can pretend that there’s none. 

For lunch we went to a cafe. It was very cute and had wifi! Georgia  and Mama got small soups whilst I got a mac and cheese with ewe cheese and smoked cheese. It was the best pasta Ive ever had in my life. Georgia and Mama loved it and took some to compensate for their tiny soups. 

After lunch we brought Papa some food and went ho e to drop our bags off. The, we went to the official bazaar. There were the single most delicious plums I ever had it my life. Great day of food so far!!! 

 Then we walked around Pest for a while. We met up with Papa and went to a ruin bar. I bar consisting of old chair and sign plus retro style everything. It was cool but we didn’t stay for too long. We headed to the Shoes memorial. The Shoes Memorial was the old shoes of persecuted Jewish people and of people who helped them escape during the Holocaust. After the war, a pro-German, anti-Semitic militia known as the Arrow Cross assembled Jewish victims, forced them to take off their shoes, and killed them. Now, this memorial commemorates the men, women, and children who were killed that day. The sixty pairs of shoes filled with metal were very moving. People were taking photo pretending to stick there own feet in the shoes. It was incredibly disrespectful. The shoes belonged to children as well and it was horrible watching people to take it so lightly. 

After the Memorial we went to a rooftop restaurant. The view was nice and the food was pretty good. We stayed were for a while then went to walk around. We bought more tonic soda and went home.
